The Rodenbach Brewery, which was founded by Pedro Rodenbach and his wife, Regina Wauters, a rich brewer’s daughter, dates back to 1836. Rodenbach owes its characteristic sweet-and-sour taste to its mixed fermentation process and to the maturation process in oak barrels, developed in days gone by to extend the beer’s storage life.
